Re-opening Plan for Perry County Schools

superintendent letter

From Superintendent Jonathan Jett:

Today the Governor recommended that districts delay the start for in person classes until September the 28th. Perry County Schools will follow that recommendation.  I have been in conversations with board members,  principals and central office staff related to the delayed start. I will meet with our district reopening committee tomorrow to make decisions about any adjustments that need to be made to open virtually.  This is a fluid situation that is changing almost daily. I will provide updates as things continue to change. We all want to go back to in person classes as soon as. possible.  The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority.  Our district will continue to follow the guidance from the Department for Public Health, the Kentucky Department of Education and The Governor’s Office.  We will provide meals to our students as we plan to begin NTI/Virtual Instruction on August 24th.  I would ask everyone to be flexible and patient with us as we provide quality instruction and meals to our students during this COVID-19 pandemic. Parents please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or if they haven’t contacted you within the next few days.
